What is O&H’s approach towards the heritage assets and historic environment at Marston Valley?

We absolutely recognise that any development site has the potential to contain multi-period archaeological remains. Where found, these should be investigated, recorded and if necessary preserved in situ.

O&H has a good track record on archaeology and heritage issues, and takes its responsibilities extremely seriously. We commission the best experts to advise us, and invest significantly in ensuring any potential impacts of development of our land are fully mitigated through the use of sensitive landscaping, design codes and protected zones where necessary.

At Marston Valley, the debate is over what the most appropriate mitigation may look like around each heritage feature. We believe this can be resolved by a closer look at the detail and context of each site. In the meantime, this debate does not take away our commitment to protecting and celebrating the heritage of the Marston Vale.
