The outline planning application for Marston Valley has been submitted to Central Bedfordshire Council
In early 2018, we ran a public consultation to share our vision of what Marston Valley could look like. You gave your views and comments via public exhibitions held across the Marston Vale, and via this website, questionnaires and emails.
These views have informed the outline planning application that was then submitted to Central Bedfordshire Council in May 2018. The outline planning application establishes the broad site-wide principles and overall quantum of development as well as securing the necessary infrastructure for the scheme. This planning application has been subject to a statutory consultation process undertaken by the Council. Following the end of that consultation, the Council has been considering all the feedback it has received on Marston Valley, while at the same time progressing its own work on the emerging Central Bedfordshire Local Plan. That work is ongoing.
Consultation on the Development Brief
As part of the current stage of the planning process, we recently consulted on a Development Brief.
A Development Brief is an important strategic planning document that sets out the vision for new development proposals.
It will be a key tool for the Council to inform their consideration of planning applications. A Development Brief now has to be in place before planning permission is granted for the development. It will be used by Central Bedfordshire Council as technical guidance to help them decide whether our proposed new development will satisfy the policies in the Local Plan.
What does the Development Brief cover?
