AN IMPORTANT PLANNING PROCESS THAT INVOLVES YOU

A revised outline planning application for Marston Valley has been submitted to Central Bedfordshire Council

In early 2018, we ran a public consultation to share our vision of what Marston Valley could look like. You gave your views and comments via public exhibitions held across the Marston Vale, and via this website, questionnaires and emails.

These views informed the outline planning application that was then submitted to Central Bedfordshire Council in May 2018. The outline planning application establishes the broad site-wide principles and overall quantum of development as well as securing the necessary infrastructure for the scheme. This planning application was subject to a statutory consultation process undertaken by the Council.

O&H then consulted on a Development Brief in 2021. A Development Brief is an important strategic planning document that sets out the vision for new development proposals. It is used by the Council as technical guidance to help them decide whether our proposed new development will satisfy the policies in the Local Plan.

Following endorsement of the Development Brief for the Marston Vale New Villages in March 2022, O&H submitted an update to its outline planning application in May 2022. The Council is currently conducting another public consultation which ends in June 2022.

O&H will work with Central Bedfordshire Council and relevant consultees to resolve any outstanding matters. The next formal stage of the planning process for Marston Valley will be for the council to consider the updated Outline Planning Application at its Development Management Committee.
